At the recent Mountain Plains Indigenous Finance Gathering in Billings, Montana, the MPCDC team had a chance to share key updates with partners, funders, and Coalition organization staff, highlighting our role as a proactive, strategic partner working to advance shared success and long-term sustainability.
A central theme of the presentation was MPCDC’s focus on driving growth and sustainability in the region. Through collaborative programs, we are working to empower Coalition members with direct support systems, shared knowledge, and expanded access to flexible funding. These efforts are strengthening lending capacity both internally and externally, while positioning the Coalition as a critical regional and industry asset.
Andrea Mader from Sweet Grass Consulting shared during our session about the ways that technology and data infrastructure continue to be powerful drivers of this progress. Early outcomes are already clear: improved reporting has reduced staff workload, while stronger data and impact storytelling have helped increase funding and expand lending capacity.
Many of our partners started from scratch and now have a foundation they can continue to refine and grow, gaining Salesforce capacity-building skills that offer transferable knowledge for their careers and the broader industry. Coalition members are seeing significant efficiency gains through streamlined systems and centralized data. By providing Coalition CDFIs the space, time, and opportunity to reflect on and refine their data collection efforts and processes, administrative tasks (such as reporting, data entry, and underwriting) now require far less time. This allows staff to focus more on client services and mission-driven work. Access to timely, reliable data is also enabling stronger internal decision-making and more compelling external storytelling, helping build trust across communities and the broader industry.
Capacity building remains at the core of our work. By assessing organizational needs, strengthening operational structures, and enhancing programmatic effectiveness, the Coalition is better positioned to achieve shared goals and maximize collective impact. Ongoing advocacy efforts also ensure members have access to the partnerships, financial resources, and capital needed to thrive.
Together, these updates reflect MPCDC’s continued commitment to fostering sustainable growth, strengthening collaboration, and amplifying the collective impact of the Coalition.
